How did the new Volvo XC90 fare in the reviews?

XC90xI am proud to report that the 2106 Volvo XC-90 which was just released last month ranked the number one luxury midsize SUV by U.S. News and World Report, while the S60, XC60 and S80 received the 2105 Best Bet awards from Cars.com.

The U.S. News and World Report is significant, in that it is based on the consensus of the top automotive journalists who agree that the Volvo XC90’s 316 horsepower, seven-passenger SVU has “plenty of power and quick acceleration, confident handling and communicative steering and strong brakes.”

Several reviewers also said the Sensus “infotainment” with its 9-inch tablet screen is the best on the market thanks to its smartphone-like operation and responsiveness. The writers/reviewers  also noted that the third row of seats could comfortably accommodate adults. XC90 Display

In addition, editors at Cars.com, the leading website for car shopping, bestowed the 2015 Best Bet awards on three Volvo models: the S60 midsize sedan, the XC60 mid-sized crossover and the luxurious S80 full-size sedan. They were recognized for having excellent crash test results and finished in the top third of their class.

On Kelley Blue Book’s website, they declared “First Review: Promised Delivered” in referring to the 2016 XC90. As if Volvo’s safety technology could get any better, KBB.com also noted that Volvo topped the previous year’s model for safety – “In keeping with Volvo’s Vision 2020 goal to eliminate deaths or serious injuries in any of its new vehicles by the end of the decade, the new XC90 introduces two new world-first safety systems: Run-off Road Protection and Auto Brake at Intersections.”
