Last week, the Boston Business Journal asked me what I thought was the most critical trait for a CEO. I answered, “Compassion.”
While most leaders already have drive and passion, compassion is just as important for business success. To provide the highest level of customer service, business leaders must have the compassion to truly understand the needs, wants and concerns that customers are facing — and then do whatever it takes to deliver a positive experience for each and every person. Compassion also means getting involved in the community and supporting civic activities.
